“Development of the market of domestic mine action operators”.

I believe that this issue is quite relevant, because it is necessary to support domestic manufacturers and specialists.

The risk to the lives of our sappers is an integral part of their dangerous work. Providing them with sufficient protection and modern equipment should be a priority. It is also necessary to continue research and development of new technologies that can help in the detection and disposal of mines with minimal risks for sappers.

The safety of these professionals must come first so that they can successfully carry out their important mission.

Among the speakers were: the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, State Emergency Service, Ukroboronservice, demining operators, international organizations and equipment manufacturers.

Our Foundation will continue to participate in similar events in order to jointly develop appropriate algorithms together with state structures, partners and the public.

According to him, taking into account his own experience of working in the State Emergency Service (he is a retired colonel), he decided to start his own charity fund together with like-minded people, which is currently designed to solve the main and most painful task – to promote humanitarian demining of the territories of Ukraine. Since this problem requires a professional and complex approach in solving:

“All our state structures that previously dealt with this issue, for example, the State Emergency Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, were actually not ready for such a volume of work. So I believe that the public should get involved and help from their side. After all, even at the legislative level, there is an opportunity for not only state institutions to work in this direction, but also private structures, operators of the mine action market, who undergo certification in accordance with the requirements. And they can take on a fairly large amount of work and help in demining the territories of Ukraine, so that it does not drag on for tens of years. How do we observe it in other states.”

Roman Palchikov emphasized that although the First Fund for the Restoration of Ukraine has just started its activities, it already has its own vision and certain developments in cleaning up our country from dangerously polluted areas.

Because it is also a food risk, because some areas gave a high gross percentage of the harvest. Now farmers cannot carry out their work on them. We often hear how their equipment is undermined. And this is not only food damage for our crane, but also for other countries of the world that depend on our agricultural production.

“The demining process and mine action in general is a very expensive type of work. So there is a need to attract foreign investors and benefactors. What the Foundation plans to do is to prepare relevant programs and present them to the world community,” he emphasized.

Roman Palchikov also assured that the Fund currently has preliminary agreements with regional military administrations regarding cooperation. In the near future, they plan to sign relevant memoranda so that joint activities can be started.

In this context, Burbok mentioned such threats as cyber attacks, disinformation campaigns, pandemics, climate change, etc. New threats are complex and affect all areas of the state and economy, and the policy of “integrated security” must be applied. According to the minister, this means the constant consideration of security issues: not only when it comes to decisions about equipping the Bundeswehr, but also regarding the reliability of supply chains or the freedom of the media sphere.
